Car competition causes controversy

Allegations of corruption are dividing Romania's leading car association with members accusing each other of cheating, lying and rumor-mongering, and with one well-placed source saying the fall-out could be severe for the industry's image.
Romcar, the official importer of Ford and Mazda, has dramatically withdrawn two of its leading brands from the Car of the Year 2003 show organized by the Car Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA) and has received tacit support from Renault.
